Companies and branches

A company (in the app, a workspace) is your business. A branch is a location inside it, such as a head office, a shop or a warehouse. Your administrator decides which branches you can work in.

Switch branch

If you can work in more than one branch, a branch control appears in the left menu.

1. Select the branch control.
2. Under Switch branch, pick the branch. Its code is shown on the right and a tick marks the current one.

If a message appears under the control, the switch did not work. Try again, and email support@getorlan.com if it keeps failing.

If you only have one branch, there is nothing to switch and the control is not shown.

Why the numbers change

Orlan shows you the records of the branch you are in. The Home page says which one: “Scoped to: Demo Trading Co HQ (HQ)”. Switch branch and the totals and lists change to match. This filtering is done on the server, so a branch you are not allowed to see can never be shown, whatever you click.

Users who can see all branches see the combined records of the branches they are allowed to use.
